SECTION Occupational Safety& Health <br /> STANDARD <br /> OPERATING S.O.G. No 402.03 <br /> GUIDELINES <br /> SUBJECT SABA Training <br /> B. Each member shall be evaluated on an annual basis to ensure that he/she <br /> is proficient in the use of SABA. As a part of their evaluation, members <br /> shall successfully: <br /> 1. Identify the major components of the air-source cart and the air <br /> line/egress respirator. <br /> 2. Demonstrate their ability to place the cart into service. <br /> 3. Change cylinders while the cart is in use by using the air bleed valve. <br /> 4. Connect and disconnect the air line at the low-pressure manifold by <br /> using the connection's safety device. <br /> 5. Don the air line/egress respirator and connect it to the supplied air line. <br /> 6. Place the egress respirator in service when the supplied air is lost. <br /> 7. Shut down all components of the cart. <br /> 8. Demonstrate the procedures for care and maintenance of the cart and <br /> the air line/egress respirator. <br /> VI. RESPONSIBILITIES. <br /> A. Each member of the TRT required to use SABA as part of their normal <br /> duties shall strictly adhere to the requirements of this standard. <br /> B. All officers shall ensure that each member strictly adheres to the <br /> requirements of this standard and shall conduct the training and <br /> evaluation required by this standard. <br /> C. The Training Lieutenant shall maintain records of any SABA training <br /> provided to members. At least once each year, the training officers shall <br /> evaluate the ability of each member to meet the requirements imposed by <br /> this standard. <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br />
