No 401.01 <br /> GUIDELINES Non-Emergency Equipment <br /> SUBJECT Care&Maintenance <br /> L PURPOSE. <br /> In the interest of the TRT member's health and safety, this document is <br /> established to provide guidelines for the acquisition, maintenance, <br /> inspection, repair, and safe use of department non-emergency tools and <br /> equipment. <br /> II. OSHA REQUIREMENTS. <br /> A. The TRT shall develop and implement guidelines for the acquisition, <br /> operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of TRT non-emergency tools <br /> and inelGua Guarding, 1910.211 and Subpart- P,Subpart 1 2 through h1910.244 <br /> Machine 9, <br /> IV. GENERAL. <br /> A. An inventory of all equipment and corresponding maintenance records <br /> shall be kept on file in the TRT. <br /> B. All tools and equipment used and/or maintained on department property <br /> shall be operated in a safe manner and maintained in a safe condition. <br /> 1. All guards for protection from moving wheels or blades shall be in <br /> place and in good condition. <br /> 2. All tools shall be inspected for wear and malfunction before each use <br /> by TRT personnel. <br /> a. Any tool suspected of malfunction shall be required by personnel <br /> noting the malfunction, or placed out nventory service <br /> records.repair, <br /> Reference <br /> the tool, and recorded into tool <br /> Note: See TRT SOG 500.01, Repair Requests. <br /> 3. Safety devices on tools and equipment shall not be disengaged or <br /> bypassed in any way. <br /> 4, necessary protective clothing, such as eye protectors and gloves, as <br /> recommended by the manufacturer of certain tools and equipment <br /> shall be worn when operating these tools and equipment. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
