SECTION Hazardous Materials <br /> STANDARD <br /> OPERATING S.O.G. No 301.03 <br /> GUIDELINES <br /> SUBJECT Decontamination Procedures <br /> K. When personnel are decontaminated, they may be released from the <br /> Warm Zone. The Decontamination Officer may release individuals who <br /> are substantially decontaminated and direct them to medical facilities for <br /> further evaluation or decontamination. The Decontamination Officer shall <br /> determine when tools, equipment, and PPE may be released from the <br /> Warm Zone. <br /> L. The Decontamination Officer may impound tools and/or equipment <br /> suspected of contamination for later evaluation and have it packaged for <br /> storage or transportation. <br /> M. If a vehicle becomes contaminated, the vehicle will be quarantined until <br /> the unit can be properly decontaminated. <br /> N. All Hazardous Materials Response Team members and any other <br /> hazardous materials technician level or specialist level personnel <br /> performing offensive operations at a hazardous materials emergency shall <br /> be directed to undergo medical surveillance and testing at the time of <br /> decontamination as well as periodically after the conclusion of the incident <br /> by the Decontamination Officer as deemed necessary. <br /> 1. A permanent record of the medical surveillance shall be maintained in <br /> the medical file. Reference Note: See SOG TRT 406.01, Permanent <br /> Medical File. <br /> O. Members who are exposed to a hazardous material shall complete a <br /> Hazardous Materials Exposure Form and place a copy of it in their <br /> Permanent Medical File.
