SECTION Emergency Operations <br /> STANDARD <br /> OPERATING S.O.G. No 603.01 <br /> GUIDELINES <br /> SUBJECT Rope Rescue <br /> 10 STANDARD PERSONNEL ASSIGNMENTS. <br /> 10.1 Incident Commander. <br /> a) Team leader with overall command of the operation. <br /> b) Interfaces with other agencies to provide resource support to the <br /> incident. <br /> c) Represents the team in a Unified Incident Command. <br /> d) Call sign: Command <br /> 10.2 Operations. <br /> a) Responsible for strategy and tactical. <br /> b) Identify fall line. <br /> c) Assign main line package, belay line package, rescue/patient <br /> package, edgeman and safety officer. <br /> d) Make rescue plan clear to all personnel. <br /> e) Safety check all system components prior to pre-tensioning. <br /> f) Pre-tension system within the safe zone. <br /> g) Lower or raise rescue/patient package only after final safety check <br /> is complete. <br /> h) Call sign: Operations <br /> 10.3 Rescuer. <br /> a) Responsible for direct contact and medical care of the subject. <br /> b) Assists paramedic or other higher medical authority. <br /> c) Call sign: Rescuer <br /> 10.4 Rigger(s). <br /> a) Get the plan from Operations. <br /> b) Gather required equipment. <br /> c) Give the working and belay lines to the attendant. <br /> d) Set up anchors. <br /> e) Build system and prepare for operation. <br /> f) Call sign: Rigger <br /> 10.5 Edgeman. <br /> a) Find personal anchor. <br /> Page 5 of 10 <br />
