SECTION Emergency Operations <br /> STANDARD <br /> OPERATING S.O.G. No 600,03 <br /> GUIDELINES <br /> SUBJECT Minimum TRT Standards <br /> I. SCOPE. <br /> This standard establishes minimum standards of performance for Technical <br /> Rescue Team members. It was promulgated to maintain the proficiency of <br /> the Technical Rescue Team members by establishing a program for the <br /> annual evaluation of rescue skills. <br /> II. REFERENCES. <br /> A. North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission Department Occupational <br /> Safety and Health Program for Fire Departments and Rescue Squads, <br /> Subpart L, 1910.156 Fire Protection, Chapter 3 Training and Education, 3- <br /> 1 through 3-5. <br /> B. Current edition of the National Fire Protection Association's 472, <br /> "Standard on Professional Competence of Responders to Hazardous <br /> Materials Incidents". <br /> C. Current edition of the National Fire Protection Association's 1006, <br /> "Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications". <br /> D. Current edition of the National Fire Protection Association's 1021, <br /> "Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications". <br /> E. Current edition of the National Fire Protection <br /> Association's 1541, <br /> "Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualification". <br /> III. OSHA REQUIREMENTS. <br /> A. The TRT shall provide members with proper training and education in the <br /> accordance with OSHA 1910.156, Training and Education. <br /> IV. GENERAL. <br /> A. It is the policy of the Technical Rescue Team to conduct all rescue <br /> operations in the safest and most proficient manner possible. <br /> B. This standard establishes a series of evaluations for rescue operations. <br /> These evaluations simulate tasks commonly performed during routine <br /> incidents. Each Technical Rescue Team member is required to be able <br /> to perform all of these evolutions within the allotted time frames. <br /> C. Each Technical Rescue Team member shall be evaluated by December <br /> of each year to ensure that the Technical Rescue Team can meet the <br /> prescribed minimum standards. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br />
