SECTION Maintenance <br /> STANDARD <br /> OPERATING S.O.G. No: <br /> 504.01 <br /> * GUIDELINES <br /> SUBJECT Respiratory Protection &SCBA <br /> 2. After each use, each SCBA or SABA shall be inspected for the <br /> following: <br /> a. Low or empty cylinder: Cylinders should be cleaned, low cylinder <br /> should be refilled, and empty cylinders should be replaced with fully <br /> charged ones. <br /> b. Components and face pieces: Shall be cleaned, checked for <br /> excessive wear or damage, sanitized, and checked for proper <br /> function. <br /> c. atmosphere,Anytime unit shall bercompletely decontaminated prior to <br /> atmosphere, <br /> being returned to service. <br /> B. Monthly at each team training: <br /> 1. Each piece of SCBA and SABA equipment shall be inspected monthly <br /> at the TRT training session. <br /> 2. The inspection shall <br /> of damage, and fully operatioB and SABA is <br /> fully charged, clean, al <br /> 3. All spare cylinders shall also be inspected. <br /> 4. Cleaning or refilling cylinders shall be done by a member who is a <br /> competent person. <br /> 5. Members will notify the Logistics Section Chief of any needed repairs <br /> or the replacement of defective parts. <br /> 6. Repairs or part replacement will be done only by qualified persons. <br /> 7. The completed checklists shall be forwarded to the Logistics Section <br /> Chief. <br /> C. Any air cylinder that is not used within a period of three months shall be <br /> emptied and refilled. This shall be done on the TRT team trainings at the <br /> end of each calendar quarter, <br /> D. Semiannual inspection: <br /> 1. All SCBAs and SABAs shall be inspected and serviced every six <br /> months by the Logistics Section Chief or by an authorized repair <br /> facility. <br /> 2. The inspection and servicing shall include the following: <br /> a. Disassembly and cleaning of ala mregulatoceand other major <br /> components, such as the low <br /> b.
