• Oversee both internal reviews and reviews performed by outside professional firms; <br /> and <br /> • Assist management in communicating with the Billing Contractors, Medicare carriers, and <br /> Federal or State agencies to discuss reimbursement issues. <br /> • Assisting with programs to educate and train all employees with respect to the NSMT <br /> Compliance Program; <br /> • Performing or assisting in reviews of various aspects of NSMT operations and presenting <br /> findings to the CEO and NSMT Management; <br /> • Determine the adequacy of any corrective action taken to improve deficient or problematic <br /> conditions or processes; <br /> • Overseeing preparation of responses to Carrier audit requests; <br /> • Reviewing Patient Business Services personnel files to ensure that employees have been <br /> properly screened prior to employment with NSMT; <br /> • Ensuring that contractual agreements with facilities receive proper review for compliance with <br /> all applicable laws, regulations and NSMT policies; <br /> • Maintaining a log of various compliance issues and all other tasks as identified. <br /> GENERAL DUTIES OF ALL COMPLIANCE PERSONNEL <br /> The NSMT Compliance Personnel are responsible for assisting with the following activities within the <br /> organization: <br /> Compliance reviews of the following departments: <br /> • Communications (Dispatch)procedures <br /> • Operational procedures <br /> • Medical Transport Personnel <br /> • Billing Contractors <br /> • Excluded employee screens <br /> • Fraud and abuse issues <br /> • Other areas of potential non-compliance <br /> • Monitor outside investigations/audits of all billing and operational procedures. <br /> • Implement and conduct employee training. <br /> 4 <br />
