The equipment should be left <br /> outside of the unit until it has thoroughly dried and then restocked. The equipment should <br /> be checked for proper operation prior to being replaced on the ambulance. <br /> E/F-15-Medical Supplies <br /> 1. Each station will have a designated area in which supplies will be stored. This will be <br /> separate from the storage for pharmaceuticals. <br /> 2. It will be the responsibility of the personnel assigned to that station inventory supplies to <br /> ensure it meets minimum required stock levels to operate. <br /> 3. Personnel should only reorder supplies when needed through. <br /> 4. The Quality Assurance officer will maintain a list of exactly what supplies should be <br /> maintained on each vehicle, including a quantity for each item. <br /> 5. Personnel assigned to vehicles should inventory them each day to ensure that the desired <br /> quantity is present at the beginning of each shift and is replenished upon returning to the <br /> station after each call. <br /> 6. Ambulances should be restocked after each run or as soon as possible to ensure they are <br /> at all times ready for response to full capabilities. <br /> 7. Medical supplies stocked by North State Medical Transport are intended for use in the <br /> treatment of patients encountered in the course of work and should not be used otherwise. <br /> E/F-16-Pharmaceutical Supplies <br /> 1. All medications and intravenous fluids will be stored within climate-controlled areas of <br /> North State Medical Transport facilities in the provided metal locker. <br /> 2. The ambient temperature of these storage areas will be maintained at all times between <br /> 50 and 80 degrees F. <br /> 3. All medications will be stored within their original packaging material. <br /> 4. The exception will be vials that come in a bulk packed and not individually packaged. <br /> 5. Vials will be stored so they are not routinely exposed to long periods of sunlight. <br /> 6. At any time medications and intravenous solutions are exposed to temperature extremes, <br /> management should be consulted to determine if that stock should remain in service. <br /> 7. All medications, intravenous solutions, and other dated materials shall be visually <br /> inspected on the 15th of the month to determine what stock will expire at the end of the <br /> month. <br /> 8. A list should be sent to Richard Hardin on this day to ensure that sufficient stock is on- <br /> hand for replacement at the end of the month. <br /> 9.
