5. Candles or other open flames are prohibited in North State Medical Transport stations. <br /> 6. Unit Staff are responsible for properly recording the location of the call and <br /> acknowledging the dispatch information. Dispatchers have final authority over call <br /> assignments. <br /> 7. Extensive dialogue between units and dispatching staff shall be kept to a minimum for <br /> safety. <br /> 8. Dispatch staff shall be notified of all unit status changes via Zoll Fleet Tracker or cellular <br /> phone. <br /> 9. Should a unit become delayed for any reason, they should immediately notify the <br /> dispatcher on duty. <br /> 10. This should be noted within the response delay areas on the patient call report. <br /> 11. When requesting additional resources to a scene, the request should be specific in nature <br /> and indicate a response mode. <br /> 12. Additional assistance should be requested for manpower whenever potential employee or <br /> patient injury or safety is compromised. <br /> 13. Any request for manpower or additional resources must be documented on the patient <br /> call report and an email notification sent to the Director of Operation. <br /> 14. When a patient presents at any North State Medical Transport station needing medical <br /> assistance or a North State Medical Transport unit comes upon a scene where medical <br /> assistance is required, they should immediately render care within their scope of practice. <br /> Crews shall immediately contact the on duty dispatcher and the local county 911 center <br /> via radio or telephone to initiate a local EMS response. <br /> 15. Patient shall be defined as any individual who meets any of the following criteria: <br /> A. Any person who receives basic or advanced medical treatment <br /> B. Any person who is physically examined by a medical responder <br /> C. Any person who has any visible signs of injury or illness <br /> D. Any person who has any medical complaint <br /> E. Any person who requires assistance <br /> F. Any person who is identified by anyone as a possible patient because of some known, <br /> or reasonably suspected, illness or injury <br /> G. Any individual that meets the criteria above will be documented using a call report <br /> and other necessary accompanying documentation <br /> 16. A false call shall be defined as: <br /> A. A call in which no patient is found <br /> B. A call in which the parties at the incident location deny calling North State Medical <br /> C. Transport, and all individuals and circumstances are not within the definition of a <br /> patient. <br /> D.
