5. The number of clients transported must not exceed available vehicle seating. <br /> 6. Once a passenger is safely in the vehicle they must be secured with proper safety devices <br /> such as lap and shoulder belts. <br /> 7. All clients' belongings must be secured safely in the back of the vehicle to reduce the <br /> potential of injury before a transport begins. <br /> 8. All clients' belonging must be stored securely in the vehicle and retrieved from the <br /> vehicle for the client by NSMT staff. <br /> 9. All clients' needs which arise must be addressed with regular regularly scheduled rest <br /> stops as needed but not to exceed 30 minutes. <br /> 10. In case of a medical emergency NSMT shuttle drivers must immediately call 911 to <br /> attend to shuttle clients then render first aid until EMS services arrive. Contact the office <br /> dispatch staff and notify them of the situation. <br /> 11. NSMT dispatch will immediately contact the facility, family or an appropriate contact for <br /> the client to notify them of the situation. <br /> 12. In case of an emergency situation NSMT staff will immediately contact 911 for <br /> appropriate response needs. Remove themselves and the client from any immediate life <br /> threatening hazard. Provide the appropriate care until additional services arrive. <br /> 13. In case of vehicle failure shuttle staff will notify dispatch staff to make appropriate <br /> transport arrangements along with notifications. <br /> Shuttle Service Vehicle Inspection <br /> 1. All Shuttle Vehicles must be inspected daily for (Safety issues, equipment, fuel and fluid <br /> levels. Any recognized issue must be addressed prior to operation. <br /> 2. Daily equipment inspections must me noted in the daily vehicle log book. <br /> 3. Any deficiencies must be corrected or brought to the attention of management. <br /> Shuttle Service Vehicle Equipment <br /> 1. Standard vehicle safety equipment and warning devices <br /> 2. A copy of NSMT policies and procedures regarding shuttle transports. <br /> 0-10- Vehicle Operations <br /> AU North State Medical Transport personnel are expected to operate vehicles in an efficient <br /> manner with regards to the safety of themselves and others. Nothing in this policy may be <br /> construed to permit the driver of a North State Medical Transport vehicle to operate in a reckless <br /> manner. <br /> 1. All ambulances are prohibited from going into any space marked less than 10 feet in <br /> height. <br /> 2.
