FCMT Job Description/Privileges <br /> First Choice Medical Transport (FCMT) Job Description/Privileges <br /> EMT-B & Paramedic Job Description <br /> First Choice Medical Transport(FCMT) is managed and operated as a non-emergency Basic Life <br /> Support(BLS)transport company in North Carolina. EMT-Bs and Paramedics will provide non- <br /> emergency BLS ambulance services by administering medical assistance at level of EMT-Basic in the <br /> transfer of ill, rehabilitation and convalescent patients to and from assigned location and medical <br /> facility for routine physician appointments or procedures.Accurately complete billing,documentation <br /> and clerical duties related to the position. Perform daily cleaning and general maintenance for the <br /> vehicles and equipment plus restock supplies. <br /> Scope of Care for Basic Life Support (BLS) <br /> EMTs and Paramedics will only provide basic medical care and transportation to patients assigned to <br /> First Choice Medical Transport.The interventions provided by the EMTs and Paramedics include basic <br /> airway,ventilation,and oxygen therapy devices found on the ambulance;takes patient vital signs; <br /> and provides stabilization of the spine and suspected extremity injuries,eye irrigation, bleeding <br /> control, CPR and automated external defibrillation (AED). EMTs and Paramedics may use advanced <br /> oxygen therapy and ventilation equipment, pulse oximetry and use of automatic blood pressure <br /> monitoring equipment. <br /> FCMT Roles and Responsibilities Summary <br /> • Maintain vehicle and equipment readiness <br /> • Ensure safety of the crew,the patient and bystanders <br /> • Operate the ambulance in safe &professional manner <br /> • Assess the patient <br /> • Provide care within the scope of care as defined by Medical Director, management,state, <br /> regional and local regulatory agencies <br /> • Safely lift and move the patient <br /> • Prepare oral and written reports <br /> • Safely transport the patient <br /> • Transfer patient care <br /> • Perform record keeping and data collection <br /> • Serve as the patient's advocate <br /> • Provide compassionate support to the patient, relatives and others <br /> • Maintain medical and legal standards <br /> • Provide administrative support <br /> • Enhance professional development <br /> • Request additional help from 911 or medical direction, if necessary. <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
