First Choice Medical Transport will look at the totality of the <br /> circumstances, including the nature of the conduct and the context in which it occurred. If appropriate, <br /> First Choice Medical Transport will, as promptly as possible, communicate our findings and the remedial <br /> action (if any)to be taken,to the accused,to the complainant, and, when appropriate, to other persons <br /> who are directly concerned. <br /> If we determine that harassment has occurred, First Choice Medical Transport will take remedial action <br /> commensurate with the severity of the offense.This action may include corrective action against the <br /> harasser, up to and including termination. Steps will be taken, as necessary, to prevent any further <br /> harassment. <br /> No Retaliation <br /> First Choice Medical Transport strictly prohibits retaliation against any person by another employee or <br /> by First Choice Medical Transport or using this complaint procedure, reporting harassment, or for filing, <br /> testifying, assisting or participating in any manner in any investigation, proceeding or hearing conducted <br /> by First Choice Medical Transport or a governmental enforcement agency. Prohibited retaliation <br /> includes, but is not limited to: termination, demotion,suspension, failure to hire or consider for hire, <br /> failure to give equal consideration in making employment decisions,failure to make employment <br /> recommendations impartially, adversely affecting working conditions or otherwise denying any <br /> employment benefit to the person participating in an investigation. <br /> First Choice Medical Transport does not consider conduct in violation of this policy to be within the <br /> course and scope of employment and does not sanction such conduct on the part of any employee, <br /> including management employees. <br /> Employee Hiring Standards <br /> Nondiscrimination <br /> We are required to give service to all regardless of their race, sex, creed, skin color, national origin, age, <br /> disability or medical condition of the patient.This includes patients with any communicable diseases <br /> such as AIDS,TB, or Hepatitis. <br /> The following criteria must be met before an EMT/Paramedic candidate is considered for <br /> employment: <br /> 1. Candidate must be a credentialed North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician Basic/ <br /> Intermediate or Paramedic (EMTs/Paramedics). <br /> 2. Candidate must be qualified to work as set forth by the Department of Labor(all employees). <br /> 3. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license; have five (5)years of driving experience, and <br /> present their driving record prior to being hired. <br /> 4. Candidate must present original training certification cards and driver's license to our office as <br /> soon as we present an offer of employment <br /> 5. Candidate will be subject to a criminal background check prior to employment (all employees). <br /> 6.
