CLEAN WATER BOND ACT OF 1981 <br /> BOND ISSUE: $300,000,000 <br /> REFERENDUM DATE: To be fixed by the Governor <br /> TERM OF ISSUE: 5 years <br /> PURPOSE: To provide funds to eligible units of local government (city , county <br /> water and sewer districts or sanitary sewer districts) for improving <br /> expanding, or constructing new facilities for wastewater and water <br /> supply systems. <br /> ALLOCATION SYSTEM: <br /> POLLUTION CONTROL ACCOUNT: $154,000,000 <br /> Distribution & Percentage: : <br /> $80 million on statewide basis according to needs for wastewater treatment plants <br /> and interceptors. Grant participation is 25% or one-half the non-federal share. <br /> $40 million on countywide basis according to population for wastewater treatment <br /> plants, interceptors, and collection sewers. Grant participation is 25% or one- <br /> half the non-federal share. <br /> $34 million on statewide basis for pending wastewater treatment projects which ha, <br /> design completed. The maximum grant participation is 37 V2%. <br /> WATER SUPPLY ACCOUNT: $ 60,000,000 <br /> Distribution & Percentage: <br /> $40 million allocated on countywide basis according to population for supply, <br /> treatment, and distribution. <br /> $20 million allocated on statewide basis according to needs for supply, treatment <br /> and distribution. <br /> Grant participation from water supply account is 25% or one-half the non-federal <br /> share. <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNT) $ 80,000,000 <br /> Distribution & Percentage: <br /> $80 million allocated on a statewide basis for water supply and pollution control <br /> Grant participation is 50%, one-half non-federal share, or $500,000, whichever is <br />
