The absence of street names (and signs) caused problems
ranging from minor annouances to life and death situations. In the =incorporate
areas of the County, the ability of emergency personnel to arrive on the scene
quickly is essential. Any reduction in response time to emergency calls is
essential, especially given the great distances that must sometimes be covered.
IMPACT: Data on accident locations would be accurate and emergency personnel and others
would be able to locate streets/roads in a more efficient manner. Street name
signs are a tremendous asset to the County in providing emergency services and
for the general convience and safety of the populace. This will result in the
saving of lives, time, and money.
