It was thought that
the referendum could be held with the 1982 Primary Election. However,
it is now know that the Primary will occur too late. Specifically,
the outcome of the referendum together with cost estimates for fire
service would have to be known prior to June 22, 1982, so that a
budget and fire tax rate could be adopted within the prescribed time
limit.
7wmA.Cm:
Since the number of persons voting on the fire tax would be small, expense
of holding the election would be minimal.
REMEENDATION:
1. Approve the attached Resolution;
2. appoint three to five interim trustees who could recommend methods
of providing the fire protection and a budget.
