Department of Human Resources, while $25,000 will come from <br /> the OPC-MHC. A copy of the award letter is attached for your Information. <br /> Since State funds will be used, all applicable State, Federal and local <br /> health, safety and fire standards and specifications must be met. <br /> An Important stipulation established by the Board in its approval of <br /> this project is that the ultimate final cost of construction not exceed <br /> the budgeted funds as cited above. Therefore, it will be necessary to <br /> configure the various construction/renovation costs into several alternative <br /> bid projects. In addition, we must also purchase the necessary equipment <br /> for the building out of the total amount available to us of $125,000. <br /> The program which will be housed in the renovated building is funded <br /> with monies appropriated by the N.C. General Assembly to meet the stipulations <br /> of a Federal Court Action resulting from a class action suit, known as the <br /> "Willie M." Program. <br /> As a result, we are on a very tight time frame for getting the program <br /> underway and have committed ourselves to a specific timetable to the <br /> Secretary of Human Resources and to the Governor. <br /> Therefore, at the outset, we would like a firm commitment from you to <br /> do everything within your power to help us meet the following timetable: <br />
