• PETITION ,•; •'r.';';:,t4:%- 'f; / • -- : DAMASCUS FIRE DISTRICT TO: ORANGE COUNTY BOARD of COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ORANGE COUNTY COURTHOUSE HILLSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 DATE: WHEREAS, we the undersigned resident freeholders of land lying within the below described boundaries of the ' proposed DAMASCUS FIRE DISTRICT think there is a need for the establishment of a fire district and the levying and collection of a tax for the purpose of providing fire protection within . • the said proposed DISTRICT. THEREFORE, pursuant to Article 3A of Chapter 69 of the North Carolina General Statutes, we the undersigned do hereby petition the Orange County Board of County Commissioners for the establishment of the DAMASCUS FIRE DISTRICT. We the undersigned further petition the Orange County Board of County Commissioners to call. an election in DAMASCUS FIRE DISTRICT for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of the said proposed District the question of levying and collecting a special tax on all taxable property in said District of not exceeding fifteen cents ($.15) on each one hundred dollars ( $100.00) valuation of property for the purpose of providing fire protection in said proposed District. The proposed DAMASCUS FIRE DISTRICT generally includes land within Southern Orange County bounded on the North by South Orange Fire District and on the South by the Orange County- Chatham County line, on the West by rear property lines of lots facing Damascus Church Rd. and rear property lines of lots on Boulder Bluff and on the East by South Orange Fire District. The proposed District is particularly described as that area outlined and lined through in red on the attached map which map is incorporated herein by reference
