Wilson seconded. Motion carried <br /> with one abstention by Ms. Gordon. <br /> 2. Orange County should allocate the water it has rights over in Lake <br /> Orange to the Town of .HiTlsborough, the Thm6vi---iterwsforange- iatems <br /> ncorporated, and t e in-stream f-ow needs of the no River. <br /> PLANNING BOARD ACTION: <br /> Kizer motioned approval of the second recommendation of the Water <br /> Task Force. Cleary seconded. Motion carried with four in favor, <br /> three against. Bacon and Laszlo abstained. <br /> 3. Orange Count should develo. 'alleles rePuirin: water conservation in <br /> both the receiving and withdrawal basins where interbasin transfers of <br /> water are re.uired to meet emer:enc situations. <br /> PLANNING BOARD ACTION: <br /> Kizer motioned approval of the recommendation. Laszlo seconded. Approved <br /> unanimously. <br /> 4. The Task Force Re.ort has identified five prime reservoir sites in the <br /> County. Local water suppliers should identif which of these sites <br /> they would Ike 'reserved for future use. The Count and water su. .liers <br /> should work together to imaement means of .rotectin and Preservig n <br /> t ese sites ox future use. <br /> PLANNING BOARD ACTION: <br /> Kizer motion that recommendation number four be accepted but that in <br /> addition sites seventeen and eighteen shown on the watershed map and <br /> discussed in the report on pages 26-30 be included as protected sites. <br /> These sites are on the north and south forks of the Little River. Irvin <br /> seconded. Ayes: Kizer, Cordon, Cleary, Harris, Wilson, Laszlo, Irvin. <br /> Noes: None. Abstentions: Lunsford. <br /> 5. Orange County should investigate the feasibilit of a re:ional solution <br /> to Its uture water needs. As part of that effort Orange COuty should <br /> reserve a portion of the water a location from Jordan Lake as a lon: <br /> term option or water supp y. <br /> PLANNING BOARD ACTION: <br /> Irvin moved approval of this recommendation. Kizer seconded. Carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> 6. Orange County should promote efforts to conserve water. <br /> PLANNING BOARD ACTION: <br /> Kizer moved approval of the recommendation. Laszlo seconded. Carried <br /> unanimously. <br />
