• <br /> • <br /> . <br /> 7 <br /> APPLICATION FOR CHANGE OF LAND USE.PLAN <br /> FOR <br /> ORANGE-COUNTY_ <br /> Dace: <br /> TO: The Honorable Board of County Commissioners, - <br /> ,Orange County, North Carolina _ .. - <br /> CO`MISSIONERS: <br /> The undersigned parties request thee the property located in Chapel Hill <br /> Township, Tax `laps Numbered 4, 4-B, and 5, and Eno Tax Map No. 25, and pre-t <br /> pre- <br /> dominately on the Northeastern portion of Chapel Hill Township, <br /> to Eno Township, as shown on the attached nap narked Exhibit A, and presently <br /> being classified as a rural residential area, be changed to a Twenty Year <br /> Transition Atea and the area be classified a Commercial Transition Activity <br /> Node, which is to be called the Murphy School. Commercial Transition Activity Node. <br /> That the property Involved is generally described as follows and <br /> contains approximately 200 acres, mare or less: <br /> Description ., <br /> 1. Starting at the intersection of the Southern Railroad track and <br /> N,C. 1710 West 2,550 feet to the intersection of Rhodes Creek. <br /> 2. Thence in a Southerly direction on Rhodes Creek, approximately <br /> 2,000 feet. <br /> � <br /> ., 0.- Thence Southeast 2,000 feet to the intersection of Murphy School <br /> .) p Road and Ht. Herman Church/Cornwallis Road. <br /> (5-*C\ 4. Thence Northeast some 1,BDD feet to a 900 turn on Couch Mountain <br /> f^f Road immediately North of a school residential area. <br /> r1.-fir°,,✓ 5.. Thence from there 2,300 feet in a Northerly direction back to the <br /> - railroad underpass at the intersection of Old No. 10, this being the point of <br /> beginning. <br /> That the reasons for this request arc as follows: <br /> 1. Ihat the area involved in obviously not of a rural residential <br /> character. <br /> ? That this property is very close to a twenty year transitional <br /> area in the Eno Township and that this would simply extend that beginning <br /> which presently exists. <br /> B. That there are already existing in this area some eight or nine <br /> commercial operations; Dean's Truck S Coach, 0 6 N Electric. Phillips General. <br /> Repair, Bass' Welding Shop, Corner Grocery, Starcastle Disco, Orange Glass <br /> Company, Piedmont Paving Company, and Automotive Catering Service.. That <br /> zany of these commercial ventures have been in operation for as ouch as ten <br /> years or more at their present locations. <br /> 4. That this property is located near 1-85 and the Southern Railroad. <br /> That we, the undersigned, would support and agree to the change of <br /> this zrca in the Land Use Plan.for Orange County. That further we understand <br /> that should the Land Use Plan be modified and amended as requested, that this <br /> land would be eligible for rezoning for commercial purposes. We also understand <br /> that in this transitional area urban services such as eater and sewer may be <br /> provided, That further these urban services may be either provided for by <br /> public or local funds or by individual owners as the situation develops over <br /> the years., <br /> That we, the undersigned, do further understand that this request to <br /> amend the Land Use Plan will he discussed in depth at a joint public hearing .. <br /> (over) <br />
