Box 287- <br /> Carrboro, 27510 Chapel Hill, RC. 27514 <br /> • <br /> To: Zoning Officer-Orange County <br /> Re: Application for zoning change (Article 20 Amendments) <br /> Date: 14 Dec. 81 <br /> We, The Cleora Sterling Corp„ are submitting an application <br /> for a zoning change for the property located on tax map number <br /> block number B, lots numbers 1 & 2,(4 & 5 on accompanying plat) , <br /> for the following reasons: <br /> A. Our lots are currently under the zoning restrictions of both <br /> the town of Carrboro and Orange County. Our Carrboro town <br /> zoning classification is M1 (industrial) , our back 80' of <br /> the afore mentioned lots are within the Orange County zoning <br /> district and are zoned residential. Having just the portions <br /> of our lots that are in Orange County rezoned to I-1 would <br /> make better use of this property now and in the future. <br /> B. Already existing on lot 4 on the accompanying plat we have <br /> a 10,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility that has been in <br /> operation since 1979, and are currently preparing to expand <br /> this facility pending our zoning change. <br /> C. The expansion of our facility should not make any changes ir. <br /> the character of the land surrounding us because it is els: <br /> zoned M-1 (Carrboro) and currently has a wholesale warehou <br /> retail store on one side and a machine shop on the "other, <br /> D. The rezoning of our property and the expansion of a facility <br /> could only benefit the county because of an increased tax <br /> base as well as the creation of new jobs. <br /> E.
