Land in <br /> areas where the prevailing land use <br /> activities are related to the <br /> land (agriculture, forestry) and <br /> which is an appropriate location <br /> for the continuation of these uses. <br /> The following statementsof policy in <br /> the Land Use Plan apply to this pro- <br /> posed land use change: <br /> 2.1 Maintain and protect land which <br /> contains valuable renewable re- <br /> sources such as productive agricultural <br /> areas, managed forested areas and <br /> potential reservoir sites by direct- <br /> ing incompatible development away <br /> form these areas. <br /> 2.2 Protect non-renewable resourc <br /> lands from incompatible development <br /> and allow their use in a safe and <br /> reasonable manner according to <br /> performance standards designed <br /> a sufficient level of environmen <br /> protection. <br /> 5.1 Utilize the following location:' <br /> criteria to designate the most <br /> appropriate location for the variozJs <br /> Land Use Plan Categories: natural <br /> environment constraints land slope, <br /> hydrology, flora and fauna, soil <br /> conditions; availability of public <br /> services and utilities; transportat-Zoi <br /> system access and capacity; impact on <br /> energy resources; existing land uses; <br /> presence of productive agricultural <br /> or forested land; appropriate populat <br /> densities; and the presence of <br /> historic or cultural features. <br /> 5 <br />
