Engineering fee shall be by hourly charges listed in Section IV of <br /> this Agreement, not to exceed $4500, payable monthly. <br /> The Engineering Services under this item shall also include docu- <br /> mentable project formulation work performed by the ENGINEER. under <br /> an agreement with the OWNER dated January 6, 1981, for which project <br /> formulation work the ENGINEER has not received reimbursement as of <br /> _ the date of this Agreement. Payment by the OWNER to the ENGINEER <br /> under this Agreement for project formulation work performed before- <br /> the date of this Agreement shall be in lieu of any further payments <br /> under the January 6, 1981 agreement, and payments under this Agreement <br /> shall be included within the above-stated fee limit of $25.00 for this <br /> Item IIA. <br /> B. Preliminary surveying as required. <br /> Preparation of construction plans and specifications and contract <br /> documents. <br /> Preparation of a detailed cost estimate and an erosion control plan <br /> for the construction of all improvements. <br /> Engineering fee shall be $9,800, payable monthly in proportion to <br /> work accomplished. <br /> C. Presentation of plans and specifications for approval to, and <br /> securing approval from appropriate regulatory agencies, including <br /> North Carolina Division of Environmental Management. <br /> Engineering fee, due upon completion, shall be $1,000. <br /> D. Property surveying as required, for the purpose of easements or <br /> rights-of-way. Preparation of easement and right-of-way agreements. <br /> Engineering fee shall be $40.00 per easement. <br /> E. Securing of easements and right-of-way agreements, if requested by <br /> the OWNER. Engineering fee shall be by unit hourly charges in <br /> accordance with the Schedule in Section IV of this Agreement. <br /> F. Assistance in receiving bids for construction, including preparing <br /> legal advertisements, answering contractors' questions, conducting <br /> the bid opening', and preparation of a certified bid tabulation. <br /> Engineering fee, due upon completion, shall be $900. <br /> G. Engineering services during construction, including: <br /> --Stakeout of all work for construction. <br /> --Conducting a preconstruction conference. <br /> --Engineering inspection of construction to insure that construction <br /> is performed according to contract specifications, and conducting <br /> final inspection of all street improvements with officials of the <br /> NC Department of Transportation. <br /> --Administration services during construction, including reviewing <br /> contractors' monthly payment requests, preparing and processing <br /> change orders, coordination with regulatory agencies, approval of <br />
