As the company had "satisfactorily completed and <br /> activated the cable system pursuant to the terms of the franchise agreer <br /> Management recommended that the $200,000 letter of credit be released. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER KAWALEC MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER WALLACE, TO AP <br /> THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION: <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN CLERK TO RELEASE THE CONSTRUCTION L <br /> OF CREDIT FOR THE CABLE TV SYSTEM (81-R-216) <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill finds that Village Cabl <br /> satisfactorily completed and fully activated the Cable system pursuant to the to <br /> the franchise agreement; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill th <br /> Council hereby authorizes the Town Clerk, David B. Roberts, to release the lei <br /> credit deposited with the Town Clerk to guarantee timely completion and activai <br /> the Cable TV system. <br /> This the 14th day of December, 1981. <br /> Councilmember Smith requested that a letter be sent from the Mayor' s <br /> commending the local Cable TV system for their completion and activation o <br /> system prior to the deadline. <br /> THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> Reports <br /> Revaluation of the Corn•rehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Roscoe <br /> Chairman of the Planning Board, stated that the Planning Board wished to i! <br /> Council' s prior instructions to review the Zoning Ordinance and the Compreh <br /> Plan. The review would be mostly independent of staff commitment and would i <br /> citizen input and professional assistance from the University of North Carolina <br /> of City and Regional Planning. <br /> Councilmember Smith expressed concern as to whether the Zoning Ordinance ha <br /> around long enough to determine its workability and wondered if the timint <br /> appropriate for such an exhaustive study. Be also expressed concern regardi <br /> amount of staff time that might be taken away from the Thoroughfare Plan wo <br /> he did not wish to see this work delayed. Mr. Reeve responded that the work <br /> phase of the revaluation would be done predominantly by the graduate class at <br /> Mayor Nassif did not wish to have a review if it meant another extensive revi: <br /> the current Zoning Ordinance. Councilmember Howes, however, felt that such a <br /> would be an invaluable exercise; it did not seem to represent a diversion fr <br /> ongoing responsibilities of the Planning Board to provide advice to the Council. <br />
