Cameron St. <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> We do not agree with the $898.91 personal property tax <br /> levied against our company for 1980 and 1981. . Your <br /> assessment and our 1980 and 1981 personal property listings <br /> evidently crossed in the mails. We received a December 29 <br /> letter from Donna Smith in the tax office, stating that the <br /> amount could not be changed except by Equalization and Review <br /> Board. <br /> We were delinquent in filing the 1980 and 1981 listings. <br /> However, there is no way that anyone could have valued our <br /> inventory except ourselves. We did not realize that taxes <br /> were collected from companies that made no profit. <br /> A timely 1982 listing was filed this month. <br /> Please let me know if you need anything else in addition <br /> to the listings submitted.
