•
8
a need for more meetings,In the past 6 months the Board has
met 3 times and had 4 cases.
PROJECTIONS FOR NEXT 6 MONTHS;
We expect to have 5 cases within the next 6 months. These
requests include a staff review of the proposal; recommendation
to the Board of Adjustment, findings of fact in the case, minutes
of the meeting.
WORK OBJECTIVE 4: MAINTAIN CONSTANT REVIEW AND RECORDS OF ALL LAND
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY, SUCH AS MINOR AND MAJOR
SUBDIVISIONS AND REZONINGS: THROUGH ON-SITE
INSPECTIONS OF EACH NEW SUBDIVISIONS AND REZONING
PROPOSAL
6 MONTH PEPORT:
The review of land development activity is on a as required basis,
The amount of activity has been reasonably slow for the first
6 months of this year. Because of increasing time requirements
in other areas and the slow activity there have been only about
60 on-site inspections in the last 6 months, The number of
people who call or come in average 1,460 per year or about 5
people per day. The type review staff does for these projects
is changing, with regular subdivisions we look only at the
particular property and surrounding areas. Planned Developments
require more in depth review of the proposal and how it fits
into an entire area. We are changing our filing system to
better deal with the increased numbers of developments we an-
ticipate in the near future.
PROJECTIONS FOR NEXT 6 MONTHS:
60 on-site inspections and 730 people visiting the department.
WORK OBJECTIVES 5 AND 6: ISSUE BUILDING PERMITS AND HANDLE QUESTIONS
AND COMMUNICATIONS FOR BUILDING INSPECTIONS
DEPARTMENT, AS NECESSARY. ENFORCE THE FLOOD
DAMAGE PREVENTION ORDINANCE THROUGH THE IS-
SUANCE OF PERMITS: CONTACT WITH THE PUBLIC;
FIELD SURVEYS
• 6 MONTH rEPORT:
Current Planning now issues all building permits in order to
have stricter adhereance to the Land Development Codes. There
were 455 building permits issued in the last 6 months. With
each building permit a Flood Permit is issued to insure that
the building is not in a floodway. We have taken on this added
responsibility because there are more zoned townships which
require zoning compliance and also the Flood Damage Prevention
Ordinance required that Current Staff review all applications
anyway. There are an average of 4 people/day that require our
assistance.
