1-.V,L=S.r.n.,V417,1; 00502 Mr. Jones, representing the neighbors of the Eno State Park, said he lived at the Cates Ford area of the Park and the Eno River State Park is a godd neighbor. The park is an asset to the area and all would benefit from the implementation of the proposals contained within this Plan. Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Oomnissioner Gustaveson, to approve the Eno River State Park Public Water-Based Recreation Development, RC & D Measure Plan # 37-6001-135-029, and to authorize the Chair to sign it. 1 Commissioner Walker suggested delaying action until the Eno River Group had- ihad sufficient time to study it and to allow others to speak. Other Board members said there had been a long process of public input and aiscussion. Vote: Ayes, 4 (Commissioners Gustaveson, Marshall, Whitted and Willhoit) : noes, 1 (Commissioner Walker). 5. Status Report on Planning Department Objectives: Mr. Polatty, Planning Director, presented a summary of the written report the Board had received out- lining accomplishments and objectives for the Planning Department. G. Joint Public Hearing with Planning Board: The Board of Commissioners rescheduled the joint public hearing (which should have been held on February 22nd) for March 8, 1982. 7. Board of Equalization and Review: Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, to adopt the Resolution establishing the Board. of Equalization and Review for Orange County (a copy of that Resolution is on pages of this book). Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. Commissioner Wilihoit said in his motion it was his intent that the!:Ferdiem be $40.00. 8. Proclamation--School Bus Safety: Canmissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Oamnissioner Walker, to adopt the joint proclamation (see page of this book) issued by Orange County and the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro proclaiming the week of February 21-27 School Bus Safety Week in Orange County. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, 0. 9. Volunteers for Youth: Commissioner Gustaveson moved, seconded by Com- missioner Whitted, to adopt the Resolution for Volunteers for Youth, Inc. Vote: Ayes, 4 (Commissioner Gustaveson was out of the room at the time of the vote); noes,: 0. Commissioner Willhoit asked the Chair to write a letter and to enclose a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Charles Petty with a copy to Ms. Virginia Wier noting the Board's enthusiastic endorsement for the Volunteers for Youth, Inc. 1
