AN INTRODUCTION TO <br /> THOMAS, KNIGHT, TRENT, KING AND COMPANY <br /> The enclosed material is presented as an introduction to, and information <br /> about, our firm. <br /> THOMAS, KNIGHT, TRENT, KING AND COMPANY is a progressive, growing firm of <br /> Certified Public Accountants (CPA's) offering quality in the way of <br /> traditional CPA services - accounting, auditing, tax, and management advisory <br /> services. We also offer a number of specialized services to fulfill special <br /> requirements. But whether the services are traditional or special, they are <br /> designed to utilize the unique talents of the CPA to respond to the unique <br /> needs of each client. <br /> If one concept epitomizes the attitude of the firm, it is that each client is <br /> special, and his needs and his concerns - so important to him - are also <br /> important to us. <br /> • Although THOMAS, KNIGHT, TRENT, KING AND COMPANY was constituted as a <br /> Professional Association in 1972, its roots can be traced through several <br /> practices in the Durham community since 1917. Presently, the firm is composed <br /> of fifteen Certified Public accountants, nine paraprofessionals, and six <br /> support personnel. All CPA's are members of the American Institute of <br /> Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified <br /> Public Accountants. Additionally, our firm is a member of the Division of <br /> Firms of the AICPA, a voluntary organization of CPA firms formed in 1977 to <br /> provide a new level of self-regulatory controls. Membership in the section is <br /> a commitment to extensive training programs in various CPA specialties and to <br /> full participation in a Peer Review program. <br /> The firms Durham offices are centrally and conveniently located at. 201 Roney <br /> Street with the Roxboro offices being situated in the Roxboro Building. In <br /> order that the personnel who service our clients' needs may have available to <br /> them the most up-to-date and current information and guidance, we maintain <br /> complete and extensive tax, accounting, auditing and management services <br /> libraries. These facilities are also always available to our clients for <br /> their use should they desire. <br /> Electronic data processing is provided "in-house" by a Burroughs B-80064-511 <br /> Computer with 9.2 million byte cartridge disk drive and 180 character per <br /> second matrix printer. We also utilize on-line facilities with Business <br /> Information Systems, Inc. which provides us with a diversity of programs to <br /> service our clients' needs. <br /> We are a firm of "business people", in that an entrepreneurial attitude <br /> prevails in understanding the problems of conducting a business in todays <br /> environment. We recognize that our most important product is timely and <br /> effective professional service of the highest quality, geared to the <br /> individual clients' particular needs.
