Co Attachment(s): Paulette Pridgen-Pond . - Informatio ntact: • . _ No Phone amber: 732-8181 ext. 510 - , PURPOSE: To Proclaim the week of February 21st School Bus Safety Week in Orange County, DEED: The Town of Chapel Hill Mayor's Assistant, Ms. Rosemary Waldorf, contacted this office this week to ascertain Board interest in a joint proclamation with the Towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Orange County, in favor of School Bus Safety this week in Orange County. The Chairman indicated that the Board of Commissioners would certainly join in such a Proclamation. Commissioner Board Vice-chairman Gustaveson will make the proclamation on Tuesday Morning at the Frank Porter Graham School on behalf of Orange County and in conjunction with the two mayors. "We the Mayors of Chapel Hill and Carrboro and the Vice-Chairman of the Orange County Commissioners do hereby proclaim the week of February 21-27, 1982, to be School Bus Safety Week. We all wish to express the importance of providing training for both riders and drivers and to impress upon them the need for being courteous and helpful to each other while riding or operating our school buses. And we wish to call attention to the importance of cooperation by parents, teachers and students and to urge all those con- cerned to work together diligently to insure that necessary safety precautions are taken throughout the school year.
