5a — Transportation Planning /Public Transportation <br />1. MPO and RPO Long Range Transportation Needs (no attachments) <br />Both transportation entities are working towards better collaboration among urban <br />issues (MPO) i.e. computer pattern) and rural issues (RPO) i.e. rural bus service) <br />across jurisdictional boundaries. Discussion needs to continue between MPO <br />and RPO on transportation 'feeder' patterns. <br />2. County Population Projections prepared by Triangle JCOG and other to <br />Access Regional Growth and Transportation Needs (attachments) <br />Recent Demographic population and employment projections have been provided to the <br />MPO and Chapel Hill Long Range Transit Committee. Considerable population growth <br />is being shown in Chatham County. <br />3. Major Development Projects Near County Border that Affect <br />Traffic Modeling (no attachments) <br />Projects such as the Lee Oil Company proposed partially straddling county line for <br />access can create traffic counts and different network increases that necessitate <br />changes in programmed roadway design (such as Smith Level Road). <br />I <br />5b — OPT and CTN Coordination <br />
