The status <br /> of the UNC holdings was uncertain at that time, and the <br /> Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan suggested that all or <br /> portions of the land be secured for recreational <br /> purposes if the use; i. e. , Horace Williams Airport, <br /> changed. <br /> The Chapel Hill Interim Land Use Plan, in preparation <br /> at the same time as the Joint Planning Area Land Use <br /> Plan, designated the site as "University" or lands <br /> owned by the University of North Carolina. The text <br /> indicated that a long-term goal was the relocation of <br /> Horace Williams Airport. In the event that should <br /> 411 occur, the site was considered desirable for expansion <br /> of the UNC campus; i. e. , a "second campus" concept. <br />
