Verner ` and Berl Bernhard. . As you are well aware the Town of Carrboro requested an expansion of its proposed' Transition Area into the northern portion of Bolin Creek Drainage Basin. On April 7, 1987 the Orange County Planning Board met and recommended to the County Commissioners approval of the Transition Area extension requested by Ce=rboro into the full extent of the Bolin Creek Basin except in D~.ke Forest and for those properties abutting Duke Forest. On May 4th the Orange Commissioners adopted the recommendation of the Orange County Planning Board and as I understood the action it was with the understanding that the administration would continue ::ts study of the area with particular interest in the plans being developed by Duke University for use in protection .of Duke Forest. As I pointed out to you in our conference on Monday my clients are particularly interested in the administration taking a closer look at the circumstances of their property to the end that it might be included in the Transition Area. The Verner/Bernhard property consists of 90 plus acres located in the vicinity of O'ld Highway •B6. The land is bounded on the north by the Duke Forest, is rectangular in shape and extends
