Taylor, Town Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Joint Planning Implementation: Requesting Orange County <br /> to Adopt Chapel Hill Development Regulations <br /> , DATE: February 22, 1988 <br /> . . <br /> The attached resolution would request that the Orange County <br /> Board of Commissioners adopt Chapel Hill's Development Ordinance, <br /> for application in the transition zones of the Joint Planning <br /> Area. <br /> • . <br /> REOISEggd . <br /> On October 26, 1987, the Council unanimously authorized execution <br /> of a new Joint Planning Agreement. The County Commissioners and <br /> the Carrboro Board of Aldermen took similar actions. <br /> The newly adopted and signed Joint Planning Agreement does not <br /> become effective until four things happen: <br /> 410 <br /> 1. Orange County adopts the agreement. (This has <br /> . taken place) . <br /> . . , <br /> 2. Orange County amends its Zoing nAtlas in accor- <br /> dance with zoning recommendations prepared by the <br /> Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. <br /> 3. Orange County adopts by reference the Chapel Hill <br /> Development Ordinance , and makes its provisions <br /> applicable to that portion of the Transition area <br /> located within the Chapel Hill Joint Development <br /> Review Area. . <br /> 4. Amending the Joint Planning Area Land Use plan. <br /> Another agenda item tonight calls a Joint Public <br /> Hearing for April 13 to hear proposals that would <br /> affect items 2 through 4. <br /> . <br /> We recommend that the Council formally request that the Orange <br /> County Board of Commissioners adopt the Chapel Hill Development <br /> Ordinance for application in Transition Areas, under Chapel <br /> Hill's administration.
