2 <br /> Emergency Medical Services Substation has been reviewed by all parties including the Town <br /> and County Attorneys. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The cost to the County will be $520,000 of which $500,000 was <br /> allocated in the 2016/17 Capital Investment Plan. The remaining $20,000 was allocated in <br /> Budget Amendment #2 on October 18, 2016 after the developer constructing the facility <br /> requested additional funding from the Town and the County due to rising construction cost <br /> estimates related to the fire and EMS portions of the building. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br /> this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding necessary <br /> for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for themselves and their <br /> dependents. <br /> Building the Fire/EMS Station provides continued ambulance service to the Southern Orange <br /> community and to allow efficient utilization of resources. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board: <br /> 1) approve the attached Town of Chapel Hill Use Agreement For the co-located Emergency <br /> Medical Services Substation; <br /> 2) authorize the County Manager to execute the Agreement; and <br /> 3) authorize the County Manager to direct the transfer of appropriated funds to the Town at <br /> the appropriate time in accordance with the Agreement. <br />
