2 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br /> CARRBORO HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM <br /> WINNING THE 2016 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP <br /> WHEREAS, on November 5, 2016, the Carrboro High School Women's <br /> Volleyball Team captured the North Carolina High School Athletic <br /> Association's (NCHSAA) 2A State Championship; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Steve Scanga, the Carrboro High <br /> School Women's Soccer Team earned its first NCHSAA State title <br /> after making it to the final four teams in each of the previous two <br /> seasons; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lady Jaguars completed the season with a 30-0 record; and <br /> WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the <br /> Lady Jaguars brought honor upon themselves, Carrboro High <br /> School, the Chapel Hill / Carrboro City Schools District and Orange <br /> County; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for the <br /> Carrboro High School Women's Volleyball Team and Coach <br /> Scanga, for the Jaguars' outstanding achievement, and for their <br /> inspiration to youth across North Carolina through their dedication, <br /> teamwork, and athletic prowess. <br /> This the 13th day of December 2016. <br /> Mark Dorosin, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
