14 <br /> 1 Donna Baker said if there is a consistent problem with attendance, either staff or the <br /> 2 Clerk's office will contact the board member with attendance issues to see what is going on. <br /> 3 Thom Freeman said quarterly attendance reports are requested from all advisory <br /> 4 boards. <br /> 5 Chair McKee said there are multiple reasons why people cannot attend, but the Board of <br /> 6 County Commissioners can be more aggressive about stressing the importance of attendance. <br /> 7 Commissioner Price said it is important to make sure that those who really want to serve <br /> 8 are able to serve. <br /> 9 Chair McKee said to encourage advisory boards to be more conscientious about <br /> 10 attendance, instead of using attrition at this point. <br /> 11 Commissioner Jacobs said in the past there were Chair/Vice Chair and Advisory Chairs <br /> 12 meetings to review processes and procedures. <br /> 13 Commissioner Rich said this was the process on the Chapel Hill Town Council as well. <br /> 14 Chair McKee asked if there are any other questions about boards and commissions. <br /> 15 Commissioner Rich said she is comfortable with all that was discussed, if John Roberts <br /> 16 talks regularly with the quasi-judicial boards about processes/procedures. <br /> 17 John Roberts said he would conduct training consistently, and if there is a special need <br /> 18 or a new appointee in need of training. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> 21 adjourn the meeting at 9:38 p.m. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Earl McKee, Chair <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Donna Baker <br /> 28 Clerk to the Board <br /> 29 <br />
