Set flanges of sheet metal work to be incorporated into the roof system into a uniform bed of <br /> flashing cement,not less than 1/16 inch thick applied over the membrane plies. <br /> B. Strip in with one layer of polymer modified bituminous membrane sheet, cemented to the <br /> top of the flanges and roof membrane. Strip flashing to extend onto roof surface four <br /> inches. <br /> 3.08 Water cut-offs <br /> A. Water cut-offs shall be provided at the end of each day's work to completely seal off the <br /> materials from possible moisture penetration. <br /> B. Top edges of flashings or exposed membranes shall be sealed with flashing cement and <br /> fabric to prevent the entry of moisture. <br /> C. Upon resumption of work, water cut-offs, field membrane and flashings, shall be <br /> removed completely so as not to cause high spots in subsequent membrane materials. <br /> Care shall be taken to ensure that no surface irregularities result from installation/removal <br /> of water cut-offs. <br /> 3.09 Drain Flashing <br /> A. Roof drain sumps and flanges shall be clean and free of all rust, dirt, debris and foreign <br /> matter and primed prior to receiving membrane flashing. <br /> B. Install base ply so that base ply stops short of the clamping ring. Install a 36-inch square <br /> piece of polymer modified bituminous membrane centered over the drain opening. Set <br /> membrane in a full 1/8"thick bed of flashing cement. <br /> C. Flashing cement shall be applied to the clamping ring area after which a 30 inch square <br /> lead flashing shall be installed. Lead flashing shall be set in a full 1/8 inch thick bed of <br /> flashing cement. <br /> D. One ply of polymer modified bituminous membrane shall be installed over the lead <br /> flashing. Membrane shall extend to the inside edge of the drain bowl. Field membrane, <br /> lead flashing and striping membrane shall extend under the clamping ring and the ring <br /> properly set and tightened. <br /> E. Clamping ring shall be tightened such that uniform pressure is exerted on the flashing <br /> membrane at the drain. All voids shall be worked out of lead and strips in plies prior to <br /> setting clamping ring. <br /> F. Strip flashing and lead flashing shall be free of wrinkles and folds.
