Primer: Shall be asphaltic primer conforming to the requirements of ASTM D41. <br /> F. Self-Adhering Membrane: Shall be as specified in Section 076200, Sheet Metal Flashing <br /> and Trim. <br /> G. Lead: Shall be as specified in Section 076200, Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim. <br /> H. Cants: Shall be preformed. The angle of the cant shall be 45 degrees and the height of <br /> the vertical leg shall be not less than nominal four inches. Cants shall be constructed of <br /> treated wood or wood fiberboard roof insulation. Use wood cant in non-supported <br /> flashing and wood blocking details e.g. expansion joints, area dividers, and wall/roof <br /> intersections where roof deck is not supported by a wall. <br /> I. Tapered edge strips: Shall be as specified in Section 072120,Board Insulation. <br /> J. Roofing Nails: Shall be 11 gauge, ring shank, hot-dipped galvanized meeting ASTM <br /> A153; with 3/8-inch diameter head and sufficient length to penetrate the full depth of the <br /> nailer strip. Fasteners shall have washers or head diameter of 1-inch minimum. Large <br /> head simplex nails may be used. <br /> K. Walkway Pad: Shall be polymer modified bituminous membrane with non-woven <br /> polyester reinforcement. Underside shall be lightly sanded, weathering surface shall be <br /> granular, thickness shall be 200 mils nominal; size shall be 39 inches by 16 feet. Pad <br /> shall be cut into lengths no greater than 5 feet. Color shall be Dark Gray. <br /> PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 Inspection <br /> A. Verify that surfaces and site conditions are ready to receive work. <br /> B. Verify that surfaces to receive membrane are smooth, clean, dry, free of debris, <br /> projections,holes,etc. which may adversely affect the membrane application. <br /> C. Verify proper securement of insulation boards and that no gaps greater than 1/8 inch <br /> exist. <br /> D. Verify that insulation surface is smooth to the extent that no board-to-board height <br /> variations greater than 1/8 inch exist. Broken, delaminated, wet or damaged insulation <br /> board shall be removed and replaced. <br /> E. Verify that surfaces to receive membrane have no obstructions to retard drainage of <br /> water. <br /> F. Verify that wood blocking, curbs, and nailers are securely anchored to the roof deck at <br /> roof penetrations and terminations and match the thickness of the insulation. <br /> G. Verify that cants are securely fastened in place in the angles formed by walls and other <br /> vertical surfaces.
