Tapered edge and cant strips shall confoun to ASTM C208, Type II, Grade 1. <br /> Tapered edge strip of appropriate size shall be installed at saddles, crickets and other <br /> similar locations to provide a smooth transition to board insulation. <br /> 2.03 Acceptable Manufacturers <br /> Products and materials shall be as manufactured by Atlas, Carlisle, Firestone, GAF, Siplast, <br /> Soprema,or approved equal. <br /> PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 Inspection <br /> A. Verify that surfaces and site conditions are ready to receive work. <br /> B. Verify that deck is supported, secured,and do not exhibit excessive deflection. <br /> C. Verify that deck is sound,smooth, and free of depressions and shallow areas. <br /> D. Verify that surfaces to receive insulation are clean, smooth, free of depressions and <br /> projections, and have no obstructions to retard drainage of water. <br /> E. Verify that wood blocking, curbs, and nailers are securely anchored to the roof deck at <br /> roof penetrations and terminations and match the thickness of the insulation. <br /> F. Verify that pipes, sleeves, ducts, and vents through the roof are solidly set and fastened <br /> into place. Seal around all roof penetrations and perimeters to prevent drippage of roof <br /> products into the building. <br /> G. Verify that projections will provide eight inches of finished flashing height as a minimum <br /> 12 inches where possible. Modify curbs and projections as necessary to achieve height. <br /> H. Installation of the insulation system shall result in positive drainage. Verification of <br /> positive drainage through the use of stringlines,building levels, etc.,may be necessary. <br /> I. Application of materials shall constitute acceptance of the surface by the contractor. <br /> J. Should the substrate be found unacceptable and outside the preparation requirements <br /> contracted for, the Owner's representative shall be immediately notified in writing to <br /> allow appropriate actions to be taken. <br /> 16-171 Board Insulation <br /> 072120-3 <br />
