<br />HISTORIC ROGERS ROAD <br />COMMUNITY ENFIANCEMENT PLAN <br />DEVELOPMENT AND MONITORING <br />TASK FORCE <br />Purpose: <br />To develop and recommend to the Orange County Board of Commissioners a plan, <br />including financing options, for the enhancement of the living environment in the historic <br />Rogers Road Community and to monitor the implementation of the plan. <br />Task Force appointment and composition: <br />The Task force will be appointed by the BOCC and will include not more than five <br />persons, including up to two commissioners, one resident of the Historic Rogers Road <br />Community, and one resident of Chapel Hill and one resident of Carrboro. <br />Task Force Charge: <br />1. To meet with the residents of the Historic Rogers Road Community as needed to <br />determine issues they deem important for improving the quality of life in their <br />community in order to address the concerns related to the long term presence of <br />the solid waste facilities located in their community. <br />2. Based on findings of the resident meetings, develop and recommend a plan for <br />addressing these quality of life issues to the BOCC no later than September 1, <br />2007. <br />3. Present an interim report of activities to the BOCC no later than June 30, 2007. <br />4. Monitor the developments of the Rogers Road Small Area Plan currently under <br />development by the Town of Chapel Hill to make recommendations to this group <br />related to quality of life issues affecting the Rogers Road Community. <br />Staff Support: <br />The primary staff support for this Task Force will be provided by the County Managers <br />office with support from the Solid Waste Management Staff. <br />Action Steps Needed: <br />1. Approve the appointment of the Historic Rogers Road Community Enhancement <br />Plan Development and Monitoring .Task Force <br />2. Decide on the geographical size of the Historic Rogers Road community to be <br />engaged in this effort. I recommend that we select the community included in the <br />Rogers Road Area Small Area plan which is currently being conducted by the <br />Town of Chapel Hill. (see map attached) <br />3. Appoint the members of the Task Force <br />
