Internal communications will be advanced with the daily contact by <br /> operations personnel with administration with open lines of <br /> communication between both groups. MBWA will be a standard <br /> means of communication. <br /> 3.7.1 Problems overcome <br /> Public relations in general and contact with the media is often <br /> reactive rather than proactive. <br /> In spite of numerous efforts and publications in place, the <br /> predominant form of communications re. policies, news, etc. is <br /> the memo. A large number of memos often inundate the <br /> schools and departments and there is little real tie to a formal <br /> PR strategy. This has proven to be inadequate in terms of <br /> internal communications. <br /> Finally, and perhaps most importantly, there is little personal <br /> contact between central school administration and staff <br /> throughout the system <br /> 3.8 Food Services <br /> We believe that a careful analysis will show the feasibility of <br /> contracting food services to an outside agency. If this study <br /> supports that conclusion, we fully. support the initiative. If not, we <br /> are prepared to report on our findings in more depth. <br /> 3.8.1 Problems Overcome <br /> Food Services while complying with Federal and State <br /> mandates and guidelines, absorbs a great many resources for <br /> the value it provides, <br /> While inventory management appears to be adequate, there are <br /> considerable dollars tied up in current inventories which must <br /> be balanced against acquisition costs. <br /> 16 <br />
