Fikes, 2490 HUD-50071 Annual Contributions Contract TELEPHONE NUMBER Hillsborough 732-8181 Chapel Hill 968-4501 Mebane .227-2031 Durham 688-7331 PURPOSE: To adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of an Annual Contributions Contract and Form 50071, Certification for Contracts, Loans and Cooperative Agreements for the Section 8 Housing Voucher Program. BACKGROUND: The County' s Housing and Community Development Department presently administers the Section 8 Existing Voucher Program for 101 families in Orange County. Authority to administer this program is provided through an agreement with HUD known as an Annual Contributions Contract (ACC) covering four different project allocations received by the County since program inception. The ACC provides the funding for the provision of housing assistance payments for eligible participants according to HUD regulations. One of our present projects consisting of 20 units expired on October 31, 1994 . HUD has reserved contract authority in the amount of $114, 144 to renew funding for these units until October 31, 1997 . In order to accept this extended term, it is necessary to execute another ACC with HUD as well as HUD Form 50071 - Certification for Contracts, Grants, Loans and Cooperative Agreements. RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends: Adoption of the resolution authorizing the execution of an Annual Contributions Contract and Form 50071, Certification for Contracts, Loans and Cooperative Agreements for the Section 8 Housing Voucher Program.
