Contract with the UNC Manager' s Office - ext. 2300 <br /> School of Social Work <br /> Foundation TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To enter into a contractual arrangement with the <br /> UNC School of Social Work Foundation to provide consultation <br /> services for the Youth & Family Services Coordination <br /> Function. <br /> BACKGROUND: In the 1994-95 budget, the Board approved <br /> $30, 000 in county non-departmental funds; $20, 000 in reserve <br /> from Community-Based Alternatives (CBA) ; a redirection of <br /> $50, 000 from human services reform (one-half of one percent <br /> of all County funds that go into local public and private <br /> human services agencies) ; and $25, 000 in the CIP for <br /> automation of outside agencies. This total of $125, 000 will <br /> begin the County' s efforts of improving the human services <br /> delivery system to youth and family services during 1994-95. <br /> The recommendations toward the enhancement of the service <br /> delivery system included the following: <br /> (1) An Automated Information and Referral System - This <br /> system would provide a common database for children <br /> and family services and be shared between public <br /> and private agencies. <br /> (2) An Improved Case Management Process that is uniform <br /> to the extent that wherever the system is accessed, <br /> there is assurance that the clients will be <br /> informed of all appropriate services and agencies <br /> relevant to their identified needs. <br />
