These funds were allocated as follows: <br />^ $3.5 million for the Homestead Park Aquatic Center (Chapel Hill) <br />^ $2.0 million for Southern Park (Chapel Hill) <br />^ $2.0 million for the "Soccer Superfund" (apportioned to West Ten Soccer Center and <br />Twin Creeks Park). <br />^ $1.2 million for Northern Park (at Northern Human Services Center) <br />^ $1.2 million for Twin Creeks Park, phase I <br />^ $1.0 million for Chapel Hill .greenways <br />^ $0.85 million for Fairview Park, Phase II <br />^ $0.75 million for Carrboro greenways <br />^ $250,000 for Efland-Cheeks Park, Phase II <br />^ $250,000 for public soccer field at Smith Middle School <br />Over the last few years, these projects have moved through design, pre-construction, or <br />construction phases -and some have been completed.. Efland-Cheeks Park and Smith soccer <br />field are both open, and Carrboro greenways funds were appropriated (at Town request) to the <br />purchase of the Adams Tract in 2004. The Homestead Aquatics Center is under construction, <br />and the Southern Park project has received construction bids. <br />The purpose of this item is to provide a status report on the Orange County projects, including <br />new projects that have been authorized since the bond. In several cases, direction is needed to <br />move the projects along toward construction. A summary page (attached) outlines the status of <br />each project and next steps): <br />
