57~ <br />E9inut es of the Board of Commissioners <br />Tuesday, August 10, 1954 <br />The Hoard of Commissioners for Orange County,-North Carolina, met in <br />a special meeting in the Commies lone ra room at the Courthouse Sn Hillsboro <br />et 7:30 o'clock P.ti. on Tuesday, August 10, 1954, with all members in attend- <br />ance. <br />Mr. A, H. Graham, County Attorney, was also present as well as Archie R, <br />Davis, Architect in charge of Courthouse Construction. and Ralph Htrayhorn, <br />Attorney representing the Delta Construction Company. <br />After ¢ discussion of the Hoards action ¢t the special meeting of July <br />29th, and after hearing the opinion of tho county attorney, it was the <br />opinion of the Hoard that the County had already executed a contract mi th <br />the Delta Construction Company and they should be allowed to proceed with <br />their work upon the Courthouse basement general contract immediately. <br />IIpon motion made by Commissioner rorrest, and seconded by Commissioner <br />Hobbs, Paschall Brothers Aeating Company eras allowed to withdraw their bid <br />for the Courthouse basement heating contract, which w¢s $2, 236.00> upon <br />forfeiture of 54 ea licuide tad damages to the County - Apes 3; Noes 0. <br />IIpon motion made by Commiss inner Hfland end seconded by Commissioner <br />Hobbs, the Archi tset was directed to return to all unsuccessful biddsrs the <br />deposits that accompanied their bids. <br />Upon motion made by Commissioner F~fland, and seconded by Commissioner <br />Hobb a, the Architect rras directed to call for new bids Tor the Courthouse <br />basement heating. These bids ate to ba opened August 19th at 2:00 o'clock P./.9. <br />at a special meeting of the Commissioners to be held at that time.
