Instead of going into an excruciating discussion of this in this memorandum, I have attached <br />portions of a power point presentation provided by Gregory Allison of the UNC School of <br />Government. Mr. Allison is an expert in the field of governmental accounting and did an <br />entire presentation on GASB 45 at a recent NCGFOA conference. Mr. Allison has also <br />agreed to come to a future work session to discuss this issue with County officials. It is my <br />suggestion that we take Mr. Allison up on his offer and, after hearing his presentation, have <br />a discussion on what actions, if any, the Board would like to pursue.
