ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: April 12, 2007 <br />Action Agen~ <br />Item No. <br />SUBJECT• Follow-up from the BOCC Retreat <br />DEPARTMENT: County Manager PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Laura Blackmon, 245-2300 <br />PURPOSE: To .provide some staff follow-up information to the discussions from the January <br />19, 2007 BOCC retreat. <br />BACKGROUND: At the Board's January 19, 2007 retreat, the BOCC discussed a number of <br />issues related to moving the County forward and establishing some priorities to help guide the <br />upcoming FY 2007-08 budget process as well as help focus staffs efforts on areas of greatest <br />interest. . <br />By the end of the retreat discussion, the Board had identified nine areas of priority interest. The <br />Board asked that the County Manager review the conclusions from the retreat and provide <br />some feedback to the Board on how the nine areas could be addressed. <br />The Manager provided some initial follow-up information to the Board at the March 1, 2007 work <br />session. Additional information regarding the priority discussions from the Board retreat will be <br />provided at the April 12th work session and in the coming weeks. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with receiving some staff follow- <br />up information to the discussions from the January 19,-2007 BOCC retreat. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager. recommends that the Board receive some staff follow- <br />up information to the discussions from the January 19; 2007 BOCC retreat and provide any <br />comments or questions. <br />
