<br />The minutes of the July mee tinge were read and approved.
<br />Mr. B. L. Miller of Little River Township presented a petition for a
<br />road le ed Sng from the Holeman Road to his home for a distance of 0.3 mile.
<br />}dr. F. 5. Tapp of Nsw Hope Community, who recently lost his home by
<br />fS.re, appeared relative to getting a tax reduction. 'Phe Hoard informed Afr.
<br />Tapp that he could not got a raduc tl on for this year.
<br />Nr. M. S. Howerton of Hillsboro submitted a bid on the finf ahing of
<br />the basement floor of the IJew Courthouse, which he said was returned to him
<br />unopened by Archie Davis, Architect, due to a tachnicali ty thnt Mr. Howerton
<br />did not comply with in submitting his bid.
<br />Upon motion, duly made and seconded, 1t wee ordered that betty June
<br />Hayes ba paid y77.00 ae reimbursement Tor registration fee paid to Register
<br />of Leeds Convention in Chaeel Hill, held June 6, 1954.
<br />Atlss Annie Strowd, Superintendent of Welfare appeared end discussed
<br />17e lfare problems with the board. She also presented the Sollowing Aid to
<br />Blind Gran is which were, upon motion, duly made end seconded, approved:

<br />Napoleon Jones, ~ proved Tor w30.00 per month
<br />L'ss. Johnson, Aid to Blind Cese Worker, appeared and made a fine report
<br />on her work done in Orange County for the past year.
<br />Upon motion of Commies Sonar Ef lend, seconded by Commissioner Hobbs,
<br />Carl C. Davis, Tax Collector, was authorized to advertise the 1954 tax sale
<br />in "The Nees of Orange Covnty°,
<br />Upon motion, duly made em] seconded, Carl C. Davis, Tax Collector, was
<br />ordered to charge x1.00 per each delinquent tax account edver tis ed Sn said
<br />newspaper.
