Cedar Grove Fire <br />Department Request Letter <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (YIN) No <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Coffey, (919) 245-2151 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2006-07. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Health Department <br />1. The Health Department has received notification of additional federal Family Planning Title X <br />funds totaling $12,050 from the State. The State's premise for allocating these funds centers <br />on the number of patients seen in the Family Planning Clinic during the previous year. The <br />department plans to use these funds to purchase additional birth control methods and to help <br />defray the costs for language line interpretation for family planning clients. The department <br />must spend these funds by May 31, 2007. This budget amendment provides for the receipt <br />of these additional funds. (See Attachment 1, column #1) <br />Orange/Chatham Justice Partnership Program <br />2. The Governor's Crime Commission has awarded a $25,876 grant to Orange County. The <br />grant period ends August 31, 2007 -the State plans to pass on a portion of the grant funds <br />$21,248 in the current fiscal year followed by the remaining funds of $4,628 no later than <br />August 31, 2007 (fiscal year 2007-08). The Orange/Chatham Justice Partnership plans to <br />pass the monies to Volunteers for Youth to reimburse costs associated with their Working <br />Towards the Future workshop series. <br />
