Comprehensive Plan Amendments <br /> (1) Cheeks Township Component <br /> Presentation by Gene Bell. <br /> • The Plan update process for Cheeks began <br /> officially on January 21 at a TAC meeting wherein <br /> the Plan update strategy was presented. This was <br /> followed by a public information meeting on <br /> February 10 to present background data and <br /> • distribute a questionnaire, a meeting on March 9 <br /> to discuss alternative plans, and a final meeting <br /> • on May 4 to present the Draft Plan. <br /> The Draft Plan was presented to the Planning Board <br /> on May 16 and at public hearing on May 23. <br /> The presentation at the public hearing summarized <br /> the differences between the existing Plan and the <br /> proposed amendments. Main differences included: <br /> - The designation of an additional 3.6 acres for <br /> inclusion in the Commercial-Industrial <br /> Activity Node on the north side of US 70 ; <br /> - A Rural Neighborhood Activity Node at Efland <br /> Cedar Grove Road and Lebanon Road; <br /> - The designation of Moorefields and County- <br /> owned lands in the Seven Mile Creek Basin as <br /> Public Interest Area; <br /> - The designation of additional Rural <br /> Residential areas to the north of Lebanon <br /> Road; and <br /> - The designation of the Back Creek Water Supply <br /> Watershed in the northwest corner of the <br /> Township. <br /> Comments were received from three citizens in <br /> reference to the Draft Plan. <br /> - Mr. Dale Davis, property owner on Buckhorn <br /> Road Extension and US 70 presented materials <br /> requesting a land use amendment to give his <br /> property a Commercial-Industrial Activity Node <br /> classification. <br /> - Dolly Hunter spoke referencing her letter of <br /> petition to include her lot in the Commercial <br />
