These recreation benefits are in addition to <br /> :re obvious recreation activities that would be available at the reservoir <br /> itself. The Town of Hillsborough sees the construction of the proposed <br /> Durham pipeline as its primary alternative to a joint town/county reservoir. <br /> This would be an unfortunate reaction to the continuing water crises and <br /> would not provide one additional drop of water for instream flow. The <br /> county's often stated goal of avoiding strip development along US 70 would be <br /> almost impossible.
